PTO accrual formulas

  • Annual PTO hours = PTO days × hours per day
  • Per pay period = annual PTO hours ÷ pay periods per year
  • Per hour worked = annual PTO hours ÷ (hours per week × 52)

Example

20 days of PTO at 8 hours a day is 160 hours a year: 6.15 hours per biweekly paycheck, or 0.077 hours for every hour worked.
